Country Line Dancing & Lessons

Date: Every Thursday

Location: Mason VFW Post #7309 (1243 Hull Rd. just south of Mason)

Time: 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Description: Get your family and friends together and learn how to country style line dance! Cost is $5 per person. Line dancing will begin after class. Cash bar and grille will be available on location. Don’t miss out on the fun!

Alma Highland Festival and Games

Description: A weekend full of highland dancing, bagpiping, kilts and camaraderie joined by members of Scottish clans. Join in on this fun event fit for everyone!

State Summer Games 2018

Date: May 31 – June 2, 2018

Location: Central Michigan University

Time: (May 31) 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

          (June 1) 7:00 a.m. – Midnight

          (June 2) 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Description: Support the Special Olympics at their largest event, the State Summer Games, alongside 2,600 SOMI athletes and 3,400 coaches, volunteers, chaperones, family members and spectators attending each year.

Each year, the athletes participate in athletics, bocce, bowling, gymnastics, horseshoes, power lifting, swimming, weightlifting, volleyball, developmental athletics and motor activities training program.

The State Summer Games is one of six annual statewide competitions for the athletes of Special Olympics Michigan. The program is free for all athletes and their families.

Oldsmobile Homecoming

Date: June 16, 2018

Location: 6101 Anacapri Blvd. (Lansing – just off exit 1 of I-496)

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Description: Join the fun at the 26th annual car show and swap meet for all Oldsmobile and Oldsmobile-powered vehicles! This is the world’s largest one-day Oldsmobile car show! You don’t want to miss it!

Red Cedar Jubilee

Date: June 17 – 23, 2018

Location: Williamston

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Description: The Red Cedar Jubilee is fun for the whole family! Come to the event and enjoy parades, craft shows, an endure derby, circus, duck drop and a food and beverage tent with live music!

Yankee Doodle Days

Date: June 21 – 24, 2018

Location: Jaycee Park (525 E. River St. in Grand Ledge)

Description: This family-friendly community event in Grand Ledge is full of summer fun! Festivities include live music, food, parade, kids’ day and more!

Delta Rocks! Family Festival

Date: June 23, 2018

Location: Delta Township

Description: Bring out your kids (or your inner child) to this free family festival in Delta Township! The event features a petting zoo, make-it-take-it crafts, trackless train, 10-ft super sling shot, games, tot spot, inflatables, business expo, music, concessions and more! Not to mention, almost all attractions are free! Don’t miss out on the fun!

Greenville Car Show

Location: Downtown Greenville

Description: Come enjoy food, prizes and hundreds of cool cars in Greenville this summer. There will also be a DJ to keep your pistons hummin’ with great tunes in Greenville’s historic downtown. To volunteer or enter your car in the car show, contact the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.

Danish Festival

Date: Every 3rd Weekend in August

Location: Downtown Greenville

Description: Become a Dane for a day and celebrate Greenville’s Danish heritage! At the event, you may enjoy authentic Danish food, Hans Christian Andersen play, Grand Dansk parade, family fun day, Lake of Illumination, fireworks, Lego contest and much more! The Danish Festival also hosts an outdoor arts & crafts fair. (It’s one of the largest arts & crafts fairs in Michigan!)

Old US 27 Motor Tour

Date: August 20 – 26, 2018
